basketball and birthday weekend

We had a pretty eventful and fun-filled weekend! Friday morning, Steve and I had to take Drew for his pre-operation testing for his toncilectomy.  He had to have some blood drawn and he didn't flinch.  Amazing boy!  We were all glad to get that over!  Then, Kate's best friend, Hannah, from preschool came over for a birthday playdate and movie night.  We went to see The Lorax and had a GREAT time!  We sure miss seeing sweet Hannah everyday.  So much fun we forgot to get a pic! :-(

Saturday, we went to Drew's last basketball game.  He improved so much from last year and made his highest score ever of 24 points!  Go Drew!  We are super proud of you!!!  Drew and Kate both start T-ball on Wednesday and even with Drew's surgery scheduled on Friday he shouldn't miss a practice or a game and he is so happy!  Have I mentioned lately how much I love those two kiddos!  I do!!!

Sunday, we woke up and got ready for Drew's basketball banquet.  He couldn't wait to get his second trophy.  He said, "Mom, I think I'm going to start collecting trophies!" HA!  Kids are so funny!

Then we came home and scurried to get ready for Kate's SIXTH birthday party!  I can't believe that once 4lb 4oz baby is six years old!!!  Enjoy the pics that Steve so graciously took!!!!  And thanks to our families who came to celebrate.  We love you all so much! :-)

decor.

Well we finally bought bar stools!  Not the ones I originally wanted.  Our builder asked if a couple could come and look at our house because they are building a house just like it and we decided we better get some bar stools.

It was short notice to order the ones I orginally wanted so we looked around at different stores and finally ended up with some from Lowe's...and I REALLY LIKE THEM...and they were SUPER CHEAP!  What a win win! Ha!

If these ever fail us I'll probably end up getting the ones I originally wanted from Crate and Barrel but these will work just fine for now!

Now we are trying to decide how to decorate our fireplace.  I bought a mirror and it gets LOST in the paint.

We are thinking seriously of painting the wall where the mirror is a color but not sure which color yet.  Also, I want to buy some things for the mantle.  Maybe some topiaries and maybe even make a cute fabric banner/bunting during holidays.  The possibilities are endless but decorating decisions are hard for me!! Ha! I shall turn to pinterest for inspiration! :-)

valentine week

We've had a pretty good Valentine week.  Except...I've been sick.  Well sort of.  I have annoying head congestion with the green stuff...yuk!  Kate and Drew have had a good week.  Steve prepared their school valentines for their friends.  I was in charge of Drew's preschool party and it turned out pretty darn fantastic if I do say so myself.   Kate and Drew received their usual balloon, card, box of candy and small stuffed animal from us.  They always LOVE it!!!  Such a good surprise!

We went to the cemetary on Sunday and put new flowers on my mom and dad's gravesite.  Valentine's day for me is a little hard since that's the day my dad passed away two years ago.  And my mom passed away thirty years ago tomorrow.  SAD!!!!  and hard and depressing but I muddle through.  I have to for the kiddos and my sanity.

Kate is going to a birthday party tonight and it's a girls only party.  Steve is going to take Drew to get his haircut and then Coonskin Park to ride his skateboard.  He is good on that thing for only being four!!!

I'm still up in the air about Kate's birthday.  Still trying to decide what to do.  I have to make my mind up cause it's getting close.

Drew is getting his tonsils out on March 9!  STRESS!  I'm so nervous about it but I just want to get it over with while he is young and hopefully he will get better rest.  That boy can SNORE!

Have a great weekend peeps!

good stuff.

Sometimes life throws you a twist and a turn but it all comes back to good stuff.

My kids are riding their bikes out in the garage without training wheels listening to Taylor Swift...LOUD.

 It's snowing outside.

 My house is clean.

My dog is clean.

My husband is off  the next two days.

An old friend is coming over to visit tomorrow.

I'm going to breakfast with my sisters and brother tomorrow, too.

Hot dogs WITH chili for dinner.

It's all good stuff.  Life is what you make it.  I'm trying to keep mine filled with good stuff.
